Books for children

Dorothy's book, All About Christmas, turned out to be particularly popular with primary school teachers who wanted to explain various Christmas traditions to the children in their classes

Dorothy was consequently asked to consider writing history books aimed at young children, filling a gap in the market for books about famous Shropshire people. These books are suitable for primary-school children, aged around seven years old. Each book is 32 pages long and includes a glossary and index, along with notes for teachers and parents. They are all illustrated with colour and black and white drawings so that they are visually pleasing to youngsters but there are also many photographs to remind children that these are books describing events that really happened.
